MONTREAL, June 14, 2023 – NJM, a ProMach product brand, introduces specialized Steelco Pharma washing carts at Pack Expo Las Vegas booth #3225. These new carts are designed specifically to wash product contact parts from either a Cremer tablet counter or Dara filling and closing machine utilizing a Steelco DS Optima PH pharma-grade parts washer, all of which are supplied by NJM within North America. By offering pre-validated washers with specialized washing carts, NJM helps pharmaceutical, biotech and nutraceutical manufacturers and packers ensure their product contact parts are easily and thoroughly cleaned to protect product quality while reducing labor costs and increasing efficiencies.

“Here at NJM, we’re always looking for new ways to add value. The addition of Steelco Pharma to our portfolio last year was a huge win for our customers because these washing systems complement the other processing and packaging machinery we offer,” said Mark Laroche, Vice President of Sales for NJM. “Now, we’ve taken the next step and developed Steelco Pharma washing carts that are specifically designed for our Cremer and Dara equipment. These cleaning systems, which have the potential to radically streamline washing, are backed by NJM’s world-renowned customer service.”

Ideal for solid dose, aseptic liquid and non-aseptic liquid product contact parts, these Steelco Pharma washers and washing carts are designed so each part is fully cleaned with the ideal amount of water, detergent concentration and temperature every time. Compared to hand washing, which is inconsistent and requires swabbing after every wash to confirm there is no product residue, Steelco Pharma washers and carts reliably prevent cross contamination and eliminate the need for swabbing. Automated washing also improves environmental sustainability by reducing water consumption and minimizes the risk of parts damage from operator handling.

Built with 316 stainless steel, these washing carts feature internal hydraulic and air-drying piping to wash and dry each product contact part, both internally and externally. The rack provides product manufacturers and contract packers with additional parts storage. Quality castors facilitate easy transportation of parts between the production floor and the washer.

Prior to running a wash cycle, an operator manually loads each product contact part in its designated location on the cart’s rack. After the cart is wheeled to the washer, the rack slides into the washer’s chamber on a rail system, while the cart base is left outside the washer. The operator selects the appropriate preprogrammed recipe on the washer’s HMI, ensuring repeatable cleaning processes and reliable results.

Pre-configured Steelco DS Optima PH pharma-grade parts washers are offered by NJM at competitive prices and are available with quick delivery times of four months or less. Washers are designed, manufactured, validated and documented in compliance with the latest cGMP. Available with either a Siemens or Rockwell/Allen-Bradley control system, Steelco Pharma washers can export production data in compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 and can be easily connected to a SCADA, if needed. The DS Optima PH washer’s compact size of 87” x 45” x 98” (2200mm x 1150mm x 2500mm) minimizes floorspace requirements. To maximize versatility, it can be equipped with either a single door for compact installation or a double door for pass-through operation, which separates dirty and clean materials to help achieve GMP compliance.

NJM offers a “total solution” approach that includes GAMP5-compliant FDS, SDS, HDS, FAT, and SAT-IQ/OQ protocol and execution as well as turnkey line integration services to seamlessly combine best-in-class technologies. NJM’s world-class aftersales support includes standard and extended warranties, preventative maintenance programs and onsite installation, training and ongoing service.
