October 7, 2025 – METTLER TOLEDO Product Inspection Group will exhibit a wide range of inspection systems at EATS (formerly Process Expo), taking place Oct. 28-30, 2025, at McCormick Place in Chicago. Located in booth 2500, the company will highlight x-ray, metal detection, vision and checkweighing solutions that help food and beverage processors and packers ensure product quality, support regulatory compliance, improve production efficiencies and monitor real-time performance metrics.
“Every product leaving a food processing facility represents a promise to the consumer,” said Tom Koshy, National Sales Director at METTLER TOLEDO Product Inspection. “With our advanced inspection systems, manufacturers can confidently safeguard consumer trust and protect their brand reputation by catching even the hardest-to-detect foreign materials and packaging defects before they go anywhere.”
At the show, METTLER TOLEDO will feature a new x-ray inspection system designed for bulk flow applications. Capable of detecting challenging physical contaminants including glass, stone, bone and high-density plastics and rubber, this system helps processors and packers inspect products early in production, significantly reducing product waste while protecting downstream equipment to keep lines running smoothly.
Also on display will be the next-generation M34R metal detector, which features dual-simultaneous frequency (DSF) technology to improve detection sensitivity by up to 25 percent and reduce false rejects even in difficult wet or metalized film applications. The M34R on exhibit is mounted on a conveyor designed for meat and protein products, featuring stainless steel construction, toolless removable rollers and skid rails, cable trays and pigtails for cable management, captive hardware and an optional magnetic drive for energy efficiency. The conveyor is engineered specifically to withstand harsh washdowns for improved sanitation and greater longevity.
Another highlight will be the CX combination checkweigher and x-ray inspection system. METTLER TOLEDO’s mix-and-match portfolio enables customers to pair a variety of their solutions, such as any checkweigher with any x-ray model. With unparalleled flexibility, combination systems are available for many budgets and in a variety of configurations including an all-in-one checkweigher/vision/x-ray/metal detector system.
Turning to vision systems, the V31 is suitable for inspecting products like English muffins for color and shape consistency. On packaged products, it can verify labels, including 1D and 2D codes, and confirm the presence of tab closures.
The X32 x-ray system is ideal for inspecting small- to medium-sized packaged products for hard-to-find foreign material such as glass, in addition to performing a variety of product integrity checks. Available in both single- and multi-lane configurations, the X32 features an intuitive user interface and easy access for cleaning and maintenance.
EATS attendees will also see the X52 x-ray inspection system in action inspecting fresh pet food immediately after the bagger on the show’s live production line. Also designed for small- to medium-sized packaged products and available in single- and multi-lane configurations, the dual-energy X52 provides more powerful inspection performance for difficult applications, while maintaining an attractive price point.
Virtually all METTLER TOLEDO inspection systems are equipped with their ProdX™ data management software. This platform allows customers to remotely monitor equipment and easily collect, save, search and share data, helping them improve product safety, streamline production and maintain compliance.
