September 23, 2026 – METTLER TOLEDO Product Inspection Group will showcase a variety of product inspection equipment, including several new introductions, at Pack Expo in Chicago, taking place Oct. 18-21, 2026. Located in booth S-2122, the company will highlight X-ray inspection, metal detection, checkweighing and combination systems that help food and pharmaceutical manufacturers strengthen product quality, support regulatory compliance, reduce waste and improve production efficiencies.

“No two production lines have the same inspection challenges. A snack producer concerned about low-density contaminants, a pharmaceutical packager weighing small containers and a meat processor looking for bone each need something different, and spec sheets alone won't point to the right system,” said Tom Koshy, Sales Director at METTLER TOLEDO Product Inspection. “We built this booth around that idea. Entry-level systems stand alongside next-generation inspection solutions, while our experienced team is on hand to talk through each customer’s application and help identify the right level of technology for a clear return on investment.”

Making its debut at Pack Expo is the new X56 DXD+ dual-energy photon-counting X-ray inspection system with AI capabilities. Combining DXD+ detector technology with Advanced Material Discrimination Pro software, the system improves detection of difficult low-density contaminants such as rubber and plastics.

METTLER TOLEDO will also introduce its new M50 R-Series AdvancedLine metal detectors to North America at the show, where an M56 on an SL2000 conveyor and an M55 GC will be on display. The series combines AI-based machine learning, automated performance monitoring and a 10.1-inch touchscreen to support product safety, traceability and uptime.

The new LightningBuild program delivers select product inspection systems from purchase order to the customer’s dock within four weeks at no additional charge. Launching with the X12 LightningBuild X-ray inspection system and C31 LightningBuild checkweigher, the program helps manufacturers respond quickly to seasonal demand, new contracts, production changes or unexpected equipment needs.

Additional X-ray systems on exhibit include the new curtainless X32 for lightweight products and open trays and the compact X37S for horizontal inspection applications such as cans. The X53 combines HiGain+ DE dual-energy detector technology with Advanced Material Discrimination Pro software to distinguish materials with similar densities, such as bone from surrounding meat, and identify low-density contaminants in complex bulk products.

Eagle by METTLER TOLEDO will showcase its next-generation Pack 550 X-ray system for larger packaged food and multilane applications. The system provides expanded inspection coverage while performing contaminant detection and multiple product quality checks simultaneously. Visitors can also see live demonstrations of additional Eagle X-ray inspection solutions at booth LU-7303.

For checkweighing, METTLER TOLEDO will display the C33 PlusLine, C35 GWD washdown checkweigher and CS3600 for harsh environments and heavy-load applications. For pharmaceutical applications, the Starweigh delivers laboratory precision for small, narrow and unstable packages.

The combination systems on exhibit are the CV35 (checkweighing and vision inspection) and the CX33 (checkweighing and X-ray inspection). METTLER TOLEDO’s mix-and-match portfolio allows customers to pair a wide range of inspection technologies to meet specific application needs.

Other metal detectors at the show include the M31 on an SL1000 conveyor with a pusher reject device, a Profile Advantage pipeline system for pumped products and a Tablex-PRO paired with a deduster for pharmaceutical tablets.

Virtually all inspection systems at Pack Expo are equipped with METTLER TOLEDO’s ProdX™ data management software. By enabling users to remotely monitor equipment and easily collect, save, search and share inspection data, ProdX helps streamline documentation and support compliance with regulatory standards while providing insights into line performance.

Beyond the booth, Stuart Thomas, Head of Sales at METTLER TOLEDO Product Inspection, will present on inspection technology selection and food safety certification at the Processing Innovation Stage (LU-7764) on Monday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m.
